Mainstream Renewable Power is an independent global developer of renewable energy with almost 10,000 megawatts in development and nearly 700 megawatts delivered into construction and commercial operation.

Mainstream was founded in 2008 by Dr Eddie O’Connor and Fintan Whelan following the sale of Airtricity, a global development and supply business established by Dr O’Connor, for €2 billion to utility giants Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) and E.ON.

Our core business is to develop, finance, construct and operate large scale, renewable energy projects in emerging markets. We deliver world class renewable project development under the Mainstream Global Development Standard™, underpinned by our core values.

We partner with governments, like the South African government through their Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers Procurement process (REIPPP), utilities and large corporations, such as IKEA to deliver exceptional projects, on time, safely and on budget meeting their national/corporate ambitions.

Mainstream has offices in seven countries, across four continents and currently employs over 160 experienced staff in our target markets.
