Carrickeeny wind plant

Carrickeeny wind farm is located in County Leitrim in the North West of Ireland.  The wind plant is Mainstream’s second project in Ireland. Mainstream took the project over at the late development stage and following construction was sold to IKEA. Mainstream will continue to operate and maintain the wind farm on behalf of IKEA for it’s 20 year lifespan.

The wind farm is connected to the Irish national grid at the Manorhamilton substation via 10km of overhead line.  Annually the plant will avoid the release of 13,270 tons of CO2 from fossil fuel power generation.
