Mainstream established Mainstream Renewable Capital as the finance and investment arm of their business in 2016 and subsequently established an office in New York. Mainstream Renewable Capital creates custom-made opportunities for investors to gain exposure to the fast growing renewable energy infrastructure sector.
Through its parent company Mainstream Renewable Power, it has access to a unique, rapidly growing, global portfolio of high quality, wind and solar generation projects at different stages, from financial close to in-development and fully operational. This portfolio spans a range of different technologies, geographies and time-lines, giving investors rich possibilities to find the investment opportunity that best suits their risk appetite and term preferences.
Previously, Mainstream was present in the North Amercian market where it developed the 110MW Shady Oaks project in Illinois, USA. Mainstream partnered with Goldwind to construct and deliver the project into commercial operation in 2012. In Canada, Mainstream developed, constructed and sold the 46MW Oldman 2 project to giant furniture retailer, IKEA.
Mainstream is no longer focused on developing projects in North America as it concentrates on emerging markets.
